Members may notice a slight difference in playability for
the next few days as we have done some maintenance to the bunkers. They may appear to play softer and plugged
lies may result. Algae was beginning to
grow in the bunkers due to them being compacted and holding water. To deal with this issue we have “cultivated”
the bunkers. By cultivating, we use a
metal landscaper rake to break up the surface and allow oxygen and sun light to
help dry out the algae. This will help
restore the original “white” look of the bunkers.
